CARE4SUD

CARE4SUD is a project which is funded by the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union (KA 220  VET – Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training) and aims to ensure a higher professionalism of the healthcare work force in the illicit drugaddiction field at national and European level. 

The project anticipates to meet the following specific objectives:

• Contribute to improved competences on illicit drug addiction counselling skillsrelated to screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment and respond to current, emerging and growing needs of the Vocational training sector addressinglack of addiction specialists. 

• Provide opportunities for continuous professional development in the health industry and create the conditions for increasing the human capital capacity, and employability of health care workers.

• Empower cooperation between educational institutions and the health care industry, in order to draw critical recommendations on the evolution of the addiction skillset and related job opportunities.

• One (1) systematic review on the availability of EU addiction training opportunities

• Twelve (12) National Reports exploring the needs in the addiction area

• One (1) transnational consolidated report that will give insight on training deficits, explaining the cross-country variances with country differences in the institutional settings and policies and provide the core competences for advancing addiction counseling skills

• A joint and highly participatory blended capacity building program for health care practitioners including trainers and trainees guides

•  Six (6) information days

• Six (6) national policy briefs to scale up project results and start honest conversation between health care professionals, public players and civil society organizations about the need to invest

• At least 120 Health care professionals in educational settings trained in illicit drug addiction counseling

The above-mentioned activities and outputs will be developed through a partnership coming from 6 countries (🇱🇹 Lithuania, 🇸🇮 Slovenia, 🇩🇰 Denmark, 🇵🇹  Portugal, 🇷🇴 Romania and 🇬🇷 Greece):

•  Institute of Social Solidarity and Wellbeing: Social Mind (🇬🇷 Greece).
